Research Associate II/III (the Stanley Center)

The goal of the Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research at the Broad Institute is to improve mental health through research. Over the last several years, the Stanley Center and the psychiatric genetics community have gained unprecedented insight into the genetic basis of schizophrenia, autism and bipolar disorder. Our focus now is to determine how the genetic findings contribute to disease mechanisms, which is essential for the identification of drug targets and eventually the development of effective treatments.

Broadly speaking, the Stem Cell team at the Stanley Center leverages human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) biology and in vitro differentiation in order to investigate causal relationships between disease-associated genetic variants and neuronal phenotypes. This includes using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines, and we are searching for a talented and responsible cell biologist to support these efforts. The candidate's background must demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively and to contribute to high quality research projects at predetermined milestones.
