North Lab

Job Location: Center for Life Sciences, Department of Pathology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Trista E. North to study hematopoietic (blood) development and homeostasis.
The laboratory is investigating intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms that control the induction, growth and differention of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) using the zebrafish model system. Additionally, we examine the role of these pathways in regulating HSC proliferation, engraftment and function in vitro and in the adult marrow niche using zebrafish, mouse and human cell sources. For additional information on our research and links to publications, please see the HSCI faculty page: or our laboratory webpage:
The successful candidate must have a PhD and/or MD (or equivalent) and an interest in biomedical research using vertebrate models. Current projects require a background in hematology, metabolism, inflammation and/or cell signaling. Strong prior training in molecular biology, in vivo imaging, in vitro culture and/or zebrafish research is preferred.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, CV and 3 references to:
