On August 15, HSCI’s 14th annual summer internship program culminated in an all-day research symposium. Thirty-five undergraduate students from Harvard and 20 colleges and universities around the world joined HSCI labs for the ten-week program, gaining hands-on research experience and professional development skills.

At the symposium, students shared their research findings with the HSCI community through oral and poster presentations. Additionally, Ahmed AboHamad of Connecticut College was announced as the recipient of the 2019 Nada Anzak Award. The award is given in memory of our former intern, who was committed to advancing biomedical research and building community among fellow scientists.

The 2019 HSCI Internship Program was generously supported by Scott and Laura Malkin, the Vranos family, and Fujifilm.
