Job Title: Research Assistant I

We are looking for an independent and highly motivated individual to join our research program focused on mammalian regenerative biology. The Lehoczky Lab studies mouse digit tip regeneration and is presently focused on determining the molecular pathways necessary for this process. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of basic and translational research in a collaborative and stimulating environment. 


BA/BS in Biology or related field. Previous research laboratory experience is expected


The candidate is expected to independently carry out the daily activities of the laboratory, which include:

  • Performing a wide range of experimental techniques involving molecular biology, tissue histology, and cell culture
  • Troubleshooting and documenting laboratory protocols and experiments
  • Lab maintenance tasks, including ordering, equipment maintenance, and lab reagent preparation
  • Lab regulatory tasks, including lab safety protocol and animal protocol maintenance and training of new personnel
  • Basic mouse colony maintenance tasks, including genotyping and setting up crosses

Required Skills

  • Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology, genetics, and mouse husbandry is recommended
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Ability to multi-task, think critically and work independently
  • Good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills. Demonstrates the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, and can clearly write about and present their work
  • Minimum two year commitment strongly preferred
