Golub Fund supports Parkinson's disease research

Lawrence E. Golub, president of Golub Capital and an alumnus of Harvard College, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Law School, knows first-hand about the devastating effects of Parkinson’s disease. Both his mother and another close relative are afflicted with the disease.

Golub and his wife, Karen Finerman, president of Metropolitan Capital Advisors, recently made a generous gift to HSCI to establish the Sharon and Leon Golub Fund for Parkinson’s Disease. This fund provides critically important seed funding for Parkinson’s disease research within HSCI’s Nervous System Diseases Program.

“We are enormously grateful to the Golubs for their support of Parkinson’s disease research within HSCI,” says Jeffrey D. Macklis, MD, DHST, head of HSCI’s Nervous System Diseases Program. “This generous gift will help speed the pace of our research and bring us closer to finding an effective treatment for this challenging disease.”
