Usher 1F Collaborative is pleased to announce our scientific research conference, Therapeutic Strategies for Large Protein Coding Genes in Usher Syndrome, Virtual Meeting Thursday-Friday May 13-14, 2021.

Usher 1F Collaborative is a recipient of a Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) Rare As One Project grant. Part of the grant includes funding for an international research conference. Because Usher 1F alone would have been a small topic for a major research conference, we have opted to expand the topic to include the other types of Usher Syndrome also caused by mutations in large genes. Our goal is to bring together Usher Syndrome researchers and scientists working on applicable tools to solve this challenging problem.

While this will be a scientific research conference, it is also open to all Usher Syndrome families. All sessions will be close captioned, and two sessions that are of particular interest to patients will include ASL interpreting. Admission is free.

We thank CZI for providing us with the opportunity to bring together this group of researchers, as well as to our partners Foundation Fighting Blindness, the Usher Syndrome Coalition, and the Usher Syndrome Society.

REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 15, 2021
