Giulio Deangeli - HIP'18

In 2020, University of Pisa (Italy) Sant'Anna School of Advanced Study MD candidate Giulio Deangeli received three University of Cambridge scholarships, including the prestigious Vice Chancellor's Award, to pursue a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience beginning in fall, 2020.  In January 2021, he was bestowed the Gonfalone d'Argento, the highest decoration of the Region of Tuscany. He was subsequently named by the President of the Legislative Assembly to lead a team of 10 promising young men and women from Tuscany, to devise the "Tuscany of the future", a project of the government of Tuscany to promote the educational and technological resources for the benefit of that community.  Click here for the video link. Andrew J. Maul - HIP'13

Juniata College senior Andrew Maul received a National Institutes of Health Post-Baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award to work in an NIH research lab for a year. He spent his summer in the lab of HSCI Principal Faculty member Jenna Galloway. Read the story here.

Elliot Akama-Garren - HIP'12

MIT senior Elliot Akama-Garren was among the 32 American recipients selected as a 2014 Rhodes Scholar to pursue graduate studies at Oxford University. As an intern, he worked in the lab of HSCI Principal Faculty member Kevin Eggan, PhD. Read the announcement here.

Samantha Olyha - HIP'12

Cornell University graduate Samantha Olyha was one of 34 Marshall Scholarship winners in 2013. The scholarship will allow Olyha to pursue advanced studies in oncology at Oxford University. As an intern, she worked in the lab of HSCI Principal Faculty member Ibrahim Domian, MD, PhD. Read the announcement here.

2011 Harvard Stem Cell Institute Internship Program participant and 2013 Worcester Polytechnic Institute graduate, Nouran Abdelfattah, awarded a 2013 Gates Cambridge Scholarship, discusses the work she's accomplished in the lab of HSCI Principal Faculty member David Langenau and how the experience is shaping her future career path.
