Research Assistant I - Camargo Laboratory

RESEARCH ASSISTANT I, Camargo Laboratory, Boston Children's Hospital

The Stem Cell Program at Boston Children's Hospital invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Research Assistant I in the Camargo Laboratory, which is engaged in the study of stem cell biology, regenerative medicine and cancer research.   Candidate will provide technical support to multiple research projects and will become familiar with techniques such as PCR, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, and tissue culture. Other responsibilities include purchasing and equipment maintenance, animal colony management and husbandry, maintenance of laboratory stocks, and establishment of procedures and maintenance of records and documentation to ensure the laboratory's compliance with hospital and governmental regulations. 

This is a great transition opportunity for a recent college graduate interested in pursuing further graduate or medical education after 2 years.  Previous Camargo lab assistants have been co-authors on several papers and are now in highly competitive medical and graduate school programs.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field. Specific experience with laboratory animals, molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or tissue culture a plus.

Outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills are essential.
