Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty with cell culture experience are invited to learn current stem cell culture techniques in this hands-on workshop offered by the Harvard Stem Cell Institute’s iPS Core Facility. The training, held on two consecutive afternoons, will be valuable for any laboratory that orders or handles stem cells lines.

Topics will include:

  • Pluripotent stem cell culture overview

  • Hands-on technical training in feeder and feeder-free culture systems
  • Live staining
  • Evaluation of pluripotent stem cell quality and passaging

  • Splitting, freezing, and thawing

Workshop faculty: The workshop will be led by Laurence Daheron, PhD, Head, HSCI iPS Core Facility and William Hendriks, PhD, who runs the core’s genome editing service.

Registration is now closed. The next workshop will be offered in Spring 2014.

Workshop fee:

  •  $400 for HSCI members (Harvard University staff/faculty may journal the amount using 33-digit coding)
  •  $525 for non-HSCI academics
  •  $750 for for-profit participants
