Dear Colleague,

We are excited to announce the details of a new 2016 Cell Symposium: Technology. Biology. Data Science. A collaboration between Cell Press, USCF, and MIT, this conference will bring together leading thinkers in technology, biology, and data science for an innovative two and a half day meeting dedicated to the burgeoning research areas where these three fields intersect.

Fostering collaboration and cross-disciplinary discussions will be key to this conference, so in addition to short scientific talks, attendees will be treated to on-stage interviews, panel discussions, and plenty of in-person social and networking opportunities with each other and the invited speakers.

Symposium themes:

  • Technologies for multifaceted measurement of biological systems
  • Computational data analysis and integration
  • Understanding molecular mechanisms
  • Perturbing and engineering biology
  • Applications to disease and medicine
  • Commercial applications

We hope you will join us in Berkeley, California from October 9-11, 2016.

Kind regards,

The organizing committee
Nevan Krogan, University of California San Francisco, USA
Tim Lu, MIT, USA
Craig Mak, Editor, Cell Systems
Bärbel Schroefelbauer, Scientific Editor, Molecular Cell
